Illumination has released the final trailer for ‘Minions & Monsters,’ the latest chaotic chapter in the studio’s wildly successful animated universe. Following the global box office domination of 2024’s Despicable Me 4, the new film cranks the mayhem to full banana-yellow volume with monsters, movie stardom and world-ending disasters colliding spectacularly.
The film tells the “totally true” story of how the Minions conquered Hollywood, became international movie stars, lost their fame, accidentally unleashed monsters across the globe and then scrambled to save humanity from the catastrophe they created. Think classic Minion pandemonium, now with giant creature-sized consequences.
The impressive voice cast includes Academy Award winner Allison Janney, two-time Academy Award winner Christoph Waltz, Academy Award winner Jeff Bridges, two-time Academy Award nominee Jesse Eisenberg, Zoey Deutch and Academy Award nominee Trey Parker, best known as the co-creator of South Park. The cast also features former Saturday Night Live star Bobby Moynihan and Phil LaMarr.
‘Minions & Monsters’ is directed by Pierre Coffin, who previously helmed the first three Despicable Me films and the original ‘Minions.’ Coffin also once again provides the iconic voices of the Minions themselves.
