cosmopolis posterAfter getting the first clip from David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis yesterday, following on from the awesome few trailers and images we’ve seen already, a brand new trailer and two more clips have surfaced online, along with word that eOne is acquiring the distribution rights ahead of its premiere at Cannes to release the film in North America and here in the UK.

Definitely good news for fans of Cronenberg and the film’s star, Robert Pattinson.

Written and directed by Cronenberg, adapting the original novel by acclaimed American author Don DeLillo, Cosmopolis will see Pattinson starring alongside a great supporting cast including Jay Baruchel, Juliette Binoche, Samantha Morton, Paul Giamatti, Sarah Gadon, and Kevin Durand.

“28-year-old financial wizard and billionaire Eric Packer traverses Manhattan in his stretch limo. His goal: a haircut at Anthony’s, his father’s old barber. But on this day his driver has to navigate a presidential visit, an attack by anarchists and a rapper’s funeral. Stuck in traffic, he anxiously monitors the value of the yen on the limo’s computer.”

Following the announcement of its acquisition, the official website has added a new trailer for your viewing pleasure, along with two new clips coming from French film site AlloCine (via The Playlist).

After its premiere at Cannes this month, the film will then be released in France on 25th May, and though no release date has been set in the UK or US yet, Deadline report that eOne have picked it up for a cool $2m., and their website is listing its release as Summer 2012, so hopefully we can look forward to seeing it on the big screen here in the next few months. For now, the new trailer and clips. Enjoy.
