According to Heat Vision, Darren Lynn Bousman, the director of Saw II, III and IV, has decided the time has come to use his horror talents for a new subject matter: numerology. Utilising the 11:11 phenomenon, Bousman and producer Wayne Rice are constructing a thriller with horror elements titled 11.11.11.

Rice, notable for his work on Valentine’s Day, is alleged to have noticed that the eleventh of November, 2011 fell on a Friday and, never one to turn his nose up at a novelty marketing opportunity, wanted to have a movie open on that day.

For those of you who are unaware of the 11.11 phenomenon, it centres on the belief that the number alerts individuals  to the presence of angels and other guardians in peoples lives. Additionally, the token conspiracy theory also points to the emergence of the number around significant historical events.

Apparently all ‘niced’ out after his characters found love in Valentine’s Day, Rice has, with the help of Bousman, found his own spin on the concept, “He and I sat down and over some pasta, and the movie materialized”. The movie will push the idea that there are 11 gates to Heaven, and that at 11.11 on the 11th day of the 11th month the gates will open letting something from another world into our own.

The film, which will reportedly be more Signs than Saw, will not suffer the same Box Office fate as Jim Carrey’s The Number 23 according to Bousman who, having taken the concept to heart, noticed he was born on the 11th of January – spooky!

In order to take advantage of the release date, which Rice describes as “marketer’s dream”, the pair aim to have the film in production this Autumn.
