With Larry David and Jon Hamm starring as the leads, Greg Mottola’s upcoming Clear History is guaranteed to be awesome. Just hilariously awesome.
Set to debut on HBO this August, we saw a great first teaser trailer a few weeks back, giving us a look at David rocking an absolutely spectacular beard and moustache with shoulder-length hair. What it didn’t give us is a good look at Jon Hamm, and now that’s all changed with the release of the second teaser.
David stars as Nathan, a hipster marketing exec who sells all his shares at a start-up over a fight with his boss (Jon Hamm), only to miss out on billions when the company’s new product—an electric car—becomes a smashing success.
Starring alongside David and Hamm is an awesome cast, led by Bill Hader, Philip Baker Hall, Kate Hudson, Michael Keaton, Danny McBride, Eva Mendes, Amy Ryan, and J.B. Smoove.
Mottola (Adventureland, Superbad) is directing from a script co-written by David and frequent collaborators Alec Berg, David Mandel, and Jeff Schaffer. And, as you can imagine, the majority of the film itself was improvised.
Clear History is set to air on August 10th at 9pm/8c on HBO in the US. Still no word yet on when we can look forward to it here in the UK, but I’m hoping it will be arriving very soon after.
