‘Promising Young Woman’ actress Carey Mulligan has signed up to star in Netflix’s Adam Sandler-led ‘Spaceman’.

Mulligan takes on the role of Sandler’s wife in the film which sees Sandler play an astronaut sent to the edge of the galaxy to collect mysterious ancient dust. He soon finds his earthly life falling to pieces, and he turns to the only voice who can help him try to put it back together – a creature from the beginning of time lurking in the shadows of his ship.

The project is based on the novel ‘The Spaceman of Bohemia’ by Jaroslav Kalfar and will be and helmed by Emmy winner Johan Renck (Chernobyl) from a script by Colby Day.

Channing Tatum, Reid Carolin, Peter Kiernan and Michael Parets will produce the picture.

Mulligan can currently be seen in Emerald Fennel’s black comedy thriller ‘Promising Young Woman’ which Mulligan stars as a woman who seeks to avenge the death of her best friend, who was a victim of rape. The film garnered two BAFTA’s this past weekend, one for Best British Film and the other for Best Original Screenplay.
