Ethan-Hawke-Julie-Delpy-in-Before-MidnightNine years after we last saw them in Before Sunset, and almost twenty years since we saw them in Before Sunrise, Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy once more star opposite each other this year in Before Midnight.

The third film in Richard Linklater’s series debuted at Sundance at the start of the year, and has been set by Sony to begin its US theatrical release at the end of May. And with its opening US release date now less than two months away, the first trailer has debuted over on Yahoo Movies.

In “Before Midnight,” we meet Celine and Jesse 9 years on. Almost 2 decades have passed since that first meeting on a train bound for Vienna, and we now find them in their early 40’s in Greece. Before the clock strikes midnight, we will again become part of their story.

Hawke and Delpy of course take the leads here once more, starring alongside Seamus Davey-Fitzpatrick, Ariane Labed, Athina Rachel Tsangari, and Yota Argyropoulou.

Linklater is behind the camera, again directing from a script that he co-wrote with Hawke and Delpy.

Before Midnight will begin its release in the US on May 24th, with Sony Classics likely to be giving it a limited release that weekend, followed a national roll-out in successive weeks. No word yet on a UK release date, but here’s to hoping that it will be arriving this summer, too. Here’s the first official trailer to set the mood. Enjoy.
