As everyone is gearing up for the delightful treats expected to be rained upon us at SDCC this coming weekend, Warner has taken the opportunity to release a new poster for James Wan’s Aquaman.

Not only, but it would appear the embargo has been lifted on set visit reports, with some revealing the direction in which the film is heading.

It’s like ‘Star Wars,’ it’s just a world we haven’t seen before. And, I think the bickering between the two of them [Aquaman and Mera] and also when they slowly start to enjoy each other and fall in love, I think it’s just a timeless story that’s just fun.

And, I love the fact that we haven’t been underwater and…when the shit hits the fan it’s gonna be like ‘Star Wars’ underwater-it’s cool! I’m a huge f–kin’ ‘Star Wars’ fan and I’ll never be anything remotely as good as Indiana Jones, but we can sure as f–k try! [laughs] I mean, like, I’ll never ever, ever beat him, but if we’re modelling after that, then, great, I’ll do my best. It’s something good to strive for.”

Joining Momoa in the cast are Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus of the aquatic kingdom of Xebel, Willem Dafoe as science advisor Dr. Vulko, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Aquaman’s mother, Temuera Morrison as his father, Thomas Curry, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as the scheming Black Manta as well as Patrick Wilson as Orm, Aquaman’s troublesome half-brother.

The story focuses on Aquaman, the reluctant ruler of Atlantis, caught between a surface world constantly ravaging the sea and Atlanteans looking to lash out in revolt. He is, nevertheless, committed to protecting the entire globe.

AQUAMAN will release in UK cinemas on December 14.
