Fans have been desperate to see him on the big screen for years, but the character never seemed to fit in with the tone of Bryan Singer’s X-Men movies. Well, that all now looks set to change, and the announcement yesterday has comic book lovers counting down the days until the movie is released in 2016.
In this feature, we take a closer look at ten things that we would love to see have a presence in X-Men: Age of Apocalypse. As always, be sure to let us know what you think in the comment section below.

10. Apocalypse
This may seem like an extremely obvious choice, but we thought it would be worth kicking things off by introducing the villainous Apocalypse to those of you who aren’t familiar with him.
The ancient En Sabah Nur is a mutant literally thousands of years old, and trying to explain what happens during that time here would be near impossible (mostly because he has one of the most confusing and convoluted histories in comics). All you need to know is that his main goal is to wipe out the human race, while simultaneously ensuring that only the strongest mutants survive.
His powers are almost limitless, and they include superhuman strength, optic blasts, flight and pretty much every other devastating ability you can imagine. He’s evil, remorseless and one of the most despicable villains in Marvel history. In short, the perfect choice of baddie to be brought to the big screen!
