Taken 3 (or Tak3n as it was being referred to in some territories…is the new poster an indication that they’ve changed their minds?) is just a few weeks away, and the first clip has now been released from the movie.

It doesn’t reveal too much about the next instalment in the Taken franchise, but we do get to watch a very intense phone call – of course! – between Liam Neeson’s Bryan Mills and Forest Whitaker’s character.

Regardless of the silly sounding title, the movie sounds promising and Neeson revealed earlier this year that the third Taken movie will see him go on the run, “from the not-so-lawful types and the lawful authorities. Bryan Mills served his country faithfully, but now even they are after him. They must not like me.”

For that reason, we won’t be seeing anyone get take this time around, something the 62 year old actor insisted on. “I said, ‘I’m dead serious, guys. My daughter certainly can’t be taken, and I can’t be taken.’”

In Taken 3, Bryan Mills’ reconciliation with his ex-wife is cut short when she is brutally murdered. Consumed with rage, and framed for the crime, he goes on the run to evade the relentless pursuit of the CIA, FBI and the police. For one last time, Mills must use his “particular set of skills,” to track down the real killers, exact his unique brand of justice, and protect the only thing that matters to him now – his daughter.

Directed by Olivier Megaton, Taken 3 – sorry, Tak3n – is set to be released on January 9th, 2015.
