Star Lord

We’re now just weeks away from the release of Guardians of the Galaxy, and with writer and director James Gunn sending out a Tweet confirming that he has now completed work on the movie, Marvel and Disney’s promotional campaign is about to step up to the next level, starting with 25 brand new stills.

These put the spotlight on each member of the quirky superhero team – Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper) and Groot (Vin Diesel) – as well as the villainous Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace) and Nebula (Karen Gillan).

However, even more interesting are some of the great behind-the-scenes shots we get as we see Sean Gunn (James’ brother) providing motion capture for Rocket, as well as the puppets which were used on set to stand in for the two sure to be fan favourite characters who were later brought to life through CGI.

From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team—the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.
