Happy 2017 Oscar nominations day! Yes, the award season madness is almost at its conclusion with the biggest awards show of them all just a month away and today sees the long-awaited announcement of just who will be going head-to-head to get their hands on a famed Oscar. And as a special treat, you can watch the live stream of the nominations for the 89th Academy Awards right here. We will be updating the post as the nominations come in, so scroll down for those.
So,
If you want out two cents, we suspect the Academy will fall head-over-heels for La La Land as many have already, but we have our fingers crossed that the likes of Manchester by the Sea, Moonlight and Jackie are given their dues as well as films such as Mike Mills’ 20th Century Women, Denis Villeneuve’s Arrival and Gareth Davis’ Lion. And could we Deadpool really get a nomination for Best Picture? It’s a long shot but stranger things have happened that’s for sure…
You can watch all the nominees be unveiled at around 1pm (GMT) with the nominations set to be announced around 1.18pm by Brie Larson, Jennifer Hudson, Ken Watanabe, Emmanuel Lubezki, Jason Reitman and Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs.
Airing on February 26th on ABC, as well as many countries across the globe, this year’s ceremony is hosted by US chat show host Jimmy Kimmel, who takes over from last year’s host Chris Rock.
Be sure to check back here later this afternoon for the full round-up of the nominees.
