X-Men:-Days-of-Future-Past-Magneto

For those unsatisfied with last week’s sneak peek, Bryan Singer has delivered as promised the first trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past, giving us our first proper look at next year’s hugely anticipated blockbuster.

One of the biggest reasons that it’s so anticipated, of course, is that Singer is reuniting the cast of X-Men: First Class with that of the original X-Men trilogy, and that is definitely worthy of the excitement and buzz surrounding the sequel.

The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. The beloved characters from the original “X-Men” film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from “X-Men: First Class,” in an epic battle that must change the past – to save our future.

James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Anna Paquin, Shawn Ashmore, Ellen Page, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, and Halle Berry lead one of the most promising casts of the year, and if you weren’t already excited for this one, then this first trailer should go some ways to changing that.

Singer is directing from a script penned by Simon Kinberg, based on the original arc, Days of Future Past, by Chris Claremont, John Byrne, and Terry Austin.

X-Men: Days of Future Past will be released on 22nd May, 2014 in the UK, following a day later in the US on May 23rd. In the meantime, here is that first trailer we’ve all been waiting for.
