To mark the start of production on Patty Jenkins Wonder Woman sequel two new images and the film’s official title have been released.

In the follow-up – titled Wonder Woman 1984 – Wonder Woman aka Diana Prince lands in the 80’s and finds her facing an all-new foe: The Cheetah.

Patty Jenkins returns to take the helm after the Super Hero’s first outing saw it take a record-breaking $822 million at the worldwide box office. Gal Gadot also returns as the titular superhero.

Joining Gadot on the cast list is Kristen Wiig in the role of the Super-Villain The Cheetah, as well as Pedro Pascal.  And Chris Pine returns from the dead as Steve Trevor.

Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Patty Jenkins, Stephen Jones and Gal Gadot are producing the film.  Rebecca Roven Oakley, Richard Suckle, Wesley Coller, Geoff Johns and Walter Hamada are the executive producers.

Joining Jenkins behind the scenes are several members the Wonder Squad, including director of photography Matthew Jensen, Oscar-nominated production designer Aline Bonetto (“Amélie”), and Oscar-winning costume designer Lindy Hemming (“Topsy-Turvy”).  Oscar-nominated editor Richard Pearson (“United 93”) will cut the film.

Production will take place in Washington, D.C., Alexandria, Virginia, and in the UK, Spain and the Canary Islands. The film is set for a release on November 1st 2019.

The first image saw Diana Prince, standing in front of numerous TV sets that depict pictures relating to the 80’s, including Larry Hagman in Dallas.

The second image saw Chris Pine as Steve Trevor fashioning your typical 80’s tracksuit in as he stands, in what looks like, an 80’s shopping mall.
