In 1962, critic-turned director Francois Truffaut persuaded Alfred Hitchcock to sit with him for a week long interview in which Hitchcock would share his insights and experiences in cinema. Fifty years on, the resulting book is still regarded as the reference book for budding and established filmmakers. In his film Hitchcock/Truffaut, director Kent Jones invites 10 contemporary working filmmakers to reiterate the aesthetic, technical, and narrative questions at the heart of Hitchcock and Truffaut’s conversations. Directors include Martin Scorsese, Olivier Assayas, David Fincher, Richard Linklater, and Wes Anderson.
