Very little is known about the planned solo movie for Batman right now, though rumour has it that Jason Todd and The Joker will be taking centre stage in an adaptation of the “Under the Hood” storyline which saw the former Robin return to Gotham City as the vigilante Red Hood.

We’ll have to wait and see if that comes to fruition, but a new report claims that Will Smith is being lined up to reprise the role of Deadshot in The Batman. Ben Affleck is directing and co-writing with comic book scribe Geoff Johns, and while a release date has not yet been officially announced, it’s been reported in the past that it’s likely to reach us around 2018.

Going back to Deadshot though, and we’ll first meet him in next year’s Suicide Squad.

Apparently, Smith is keen to become a major part of the DC Extended Universe, and it sounds as if he’ll have more than just a cameo in The Batman! The site points out that, “If Deadshot joins the Bat in the movie, it will be for a “major role” for a “The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly” scenario.” A team-up between Batman and Deadshot? That would be fun!

Despite being on different sides of the law, these two have worked together in the past, and Batman is going to need all the help he can get to tackle both The Joker and the Red Hood!
