Welcome-to-the-Punch-PosterWith James McAvoy and Mark Strong leading the cast, we’ve been seeing plenty of promising things from Eren Creevy’s Welcome to the Punch.

The action-thriller is just over a week from its UK release, with its US release date following soon after at the end of the month.

The first trailer had our interest piqued when it debuted at the end of last year, and we’ve recently been treated to two new clips from the upcoming movie. And with just a matter of days to count down until it hits cinemas, the opening sequence has been released online, giving us a look at Richard Morrison’s title sequence, and how the film itself begins.

“Ex-criminal Jacob Sternwood (Mark Strong) is forced to return to London when his son is involved in a heist gone wrong. This gives his nemesis, detective Max Lewinsky (James McAvoy), one last chance to catch the man he’s always been after.”

Andrea Riseborough completes the leading trio nicely, with the three starring alongside David Morrissey, Elyes Gabel, Peter Mullan, Daniel Mays, and Steve Oram.

The BAFTA-nominated Creevy (Shifty) is once more directing from his own script, with Ridley Scott serving as executive producer.

Welcome to the Punch will be released in the UK on 15th March, with its US release date set for 27th March. Here’s the opening sequence to get you hooked.
