James McAvoy returns to the big screen in two anticipated films this month, and we’re looking forward to his return in both. First up is Eren Creevy’s Welcome to the Punch, and then he’s following it up with Danny Boyle’s Trance.

It’s been too long since we last saw him – in person, in X-Men: First Class; and in voice, Arthur Christmas – and so two films in one month, with a handful more coming this year, is definitely a good thing in our books.

McAvoy is joined by the great Mark Strong here for Welcome to the Punch. We caught the first trailer at the end of last year. And all that we’ve seen since suggests it’s a must-see this month. With the film coming out next Friday in the UK, two new clips have surfaced, giving us a taste of what to expect.

“Ex-criminal Jacob Sternwood (Mark Strong) is forced to return to London when his son is involved in a heist gone wrong. This gives his nemesis, detective Max Lewinsky (James McAvoy), one last chance to catch the man he’s always been after.”

Andrea Riseborough completes the leading trio, with the three starring alongside David Morrissey, Elyes Gabel, Peter Mullan, Daniel Mays, and Steve Oram.

The BAFTA-nominated Creevy (Shifty) is once more directing from his own script, with Ridley Scott serving as executive producer.

Welcome to the Punch will be released in the UK on 15th March, with its US release date set for the end of the month on 27th March. For now, here are the two new clips to give you a feel for what’s to come.
