Trance-Quad-PosterDanny Boyle’s Trance has fast become one of our most anticipated films of the spring, with a brilliant leading cast in James McAvoy, Rosario Dawson, and Vincent Cassel.

The first trailer landed earlier in the year, only serving to fuel our anticipation. And now Yahoo Movies have released a new red-band trailer. And as you can imagine, this one’s not suitable viewing for work.

“A fine art auctioneer mixed up with a gang joins forces with a hypnotherapist to recover a lost painting. As boundaries between desire, reality and hypnotic suggestion begin to blur the stakes rise faster than anyone could have anticipated.”

McAvoy, Dawson, and Cassel are joined in Trance by Tuppence Middleton, Danny Sapani, Lee Nicholas Harris, and Wahab Sheikh.

Boyle is directing from a script co-written by Joe Ahearne (Apparitions) and John Hodge (Trainspotting), partly inspired by Ahearne’s 2001 TV movie of the same name.

We last saw Boyle step behind the camera on the big screen for the brilliant 127 Hours. He’s since done a terrific job directing the Opening Ceremony of the Summer Olympics last year. And naturally, we’re looking forward to his return for another feature film.

Trance will be released in the UK on 27th March, and has its US release date set for 5th April. For now, here’s the latest trailer to give you an idea of what to expect. And one final reminder, this one’s a red-band trailer, so be sure to come back later if you’re reading this at work.
