The anticipated blockbuster is naturally one of our must-see movies of the month, and is definitely something you should be looking forward to. And if you missed it last week, you can catch up on our edit bay report and interview with Mangold to raise your anticipation that much further.
Following the new TV spot we saw at the start of the week, Machinima have debuted the first clip from the film, giving us a look at an extended fight sequence aboard a Japanese train.
Based on the celebrated comic book arc, The Wolverine finds Logan, the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.
Jackman is joined by a great cast, led by Hiroyuki Sanada, Rila Fukushima, Tao Okamoto, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Will Yun Lee, Hal Yamanouchi, and Brian Tee.
Mangold (3:10 to Yuma) is directing from a script penned by Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects), Mark Bomback (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), and Scott Frank (Minority Report).
And Jackman himself produces here alongside Hutch Parker, John Palermo (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Drive), and Lauren Shuler Donner (X-Men, Constantine).
The Wolverine will be released in 3D on 25th July here in the UK, following a day later in the US on July 26th.
