Hitting hard at the end of the month, James Mangold’s The Wolverine has been looking more and more like one of the best blockbusters of the season over the past few months.
Hugh Jackman returns to centre stage as the titular Wolverine / Logan, and I can’t wait to see him in action. We got the chance to go to the edit bay and interview James Mangold earlier this year, and reading that report should raise your anticipation that much further.
With just over two weeks before the film hits the big screen, we’ve got a great new little TV spot to share from our shores.
Based on the celebrated comic book arc, The Wolverine finds Logan, the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.
Hiroyuki Sanada, Rila Fukushima, Tao Okamoto, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Will Yun Lee, Hal Yamanouchi, and Brian Tee lead a brilliant ensemble alongside Jackman.
Mangold (3:10 to Yuma) directs from a script co-written by Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects), Mark Bomback (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), and Scott Frank (Minority Report).
The Wolverine will be released in 3D on 25th July here in the UK, following a day later in the US on July 26th. For now, here’s the new TV spot to help make that wait a little easier. Enjoy.
