The latest in teen drama’s ‘The Wilds’ from Amazon hits Prime Video this week, the gender-flipped ‘Lord of the Flies’ not only hits a refreshing note on the diversity front but, refreshingly, doesn’t pit young women against each other in order to succeed. We spent some time with the all-female cast to get the low down on making the show.

The ten-episode series follows a group of teenage girls from radically different backgrounds after an aeroplane crash strands them on a deserted island. Part survival drama, part dystopic slumber party, the castaways both clash and bond as they learn more about each other, the secrets they keep, and the traumas they’ve all endured. There’s just one twist to this thrilling drama… these girls did not end up on this island by accident.

The show explores the past and present struggles of these young women, offering up a vivid portrayal of what it means to grow up female in our time.

The show stars Sarah Pidgeon, Mia Healey, Shannon Berry, Sophia Ai, Jenna Clause, Erana James and Reign Edwards and Helena Howards. Here are the interviews.
