I was away from my computer all day yesterday on a cracking set visit which you can hear all about in around a year from now (!) but while I was away, we received this press release to show that even though The Inbetweeners Movie isn’t officially out until today, it still smashed it at the box office ot bring in over £2.5m on it’s first preview day! Not bad for a movie that didn’t get any screenings before the premiere!

The movie follows on from the awesome TV series where our favourite characters played by Simon Bird?, James Buckley, Blake Harrison, Joe Thomas, Emily Head and Belinda Stewart-Wilson. This time we get to see Simon, Jay, Neil and Will head on their holidays to do their best to find the woman of their dreams!

Our review of the movie will go live later today.

THE INBETWEENERS TAKE ON HOLLYWOOD…AND WIN

The Inbetweeners Movie has smashed the box office taking over £2.5 million on its first day of previews and is #1

London, UK – Entertainment Film Distributors are delighted to announce that The Inbetweeners Movie has taken a phenomenal £2,584,106 from 409 sites on its first day of previews, taking the Number 1 slot at the UK Box Office.

With the hit British TV show gracing the big screen for the first time the excitement among the devoted fans and followers has translated in to incredible first day box office figures.  Exhibitors were tweeting yesterday that they were trying to add more screens where possible as they were selling out so quickly.

Producer Chris Young says “We are all delighted by the response to Jay, Neil, Simon and Will’s summer holiday.  We’ve been so excited for people to see the boys on the big screen and we are thrilled that the UK feels the same!”

Will (Simon Bird), Simon (Joe Thomas), Jay (James Buckley) and Neil (Blake Harrison), have finished school forever, and are off on their first lads’ holiday. They’ve got two weeks in Malia with no parents, no teachers, no money, and little chance with the ladies.

From the creative minds that brought you the award winning TV show (creators & writers Damon Beesley and Iain Morris; producer Christopher Young and director Ben Palmer), the boys are joined on the big screen by Emily Head, Belinda Stewart-Wilson, and Greg Davies.  The film introduces Lydia Rose Bewley, Laura Haddock, Jessica Knappett, and Tamla Kari.

Join them in cinemas everywhere as they continue their outrageous adventures on the big screen.

This summer four boys become men.
