Sylvester Stallone will be back for more next summer, assembling an even bigger team for The Expendables 3 than previously seen in the first two slices of action.
With the holidays almost upon us, Lionsgate has taken the opportunity to release the first teaser trailer for the blockbuster sequel, introducing the new line-up.
In THE EXPENDABLES 3, Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Statham) and the rest of the team comes face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill… or so he thought. In order to defeat Stonebanks, Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and more tech-savvy. The latest mission becomes a clash of classic old-school style versus high-tech expertise in the Expendables’ most personal battle yet.
Jason Statham heads up the supporting cast opposite Stallone, alongside Antonio Banderas, Jet Li, Wesley Snipes, Dolph Lundgren, Kelsey Grammer, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Kellan Lutz, Ronda Rousey, Glen Powell, and Victor Ortiz, with Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, and Arnold Schwarzenegger completing the roster.
Patrick Hughes (Red Hill) is directing from a script Stallone co-wrote with Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt (Olympus Has Fallen), with Stallone writing the story.
The Expendables 3 will be released in the US and UK on August 15th, 2014, almost exactly two years to the day after the first sequel.
