Paramount+ has unveiled the official trailer and first-look images for Season 2 of the gripping espionage thriller ‘The Agency,’ confirming that all ten episodes will premiere on June 21 at 12:00 AM PT / 3:00 AM ET exclusively on Paramount+.
Led by two-time Academy Award nominee Michael Fassbender, the acclaimed series returns with even higher stakes, plunging viewers back into a shadow world where loyalty fractures, identities blur, and survival comes at a devastating cost.
The newly released trailer teases a tense and emotionally volatile chapter for Martian, the undercover CIA operative played by Fassbender. With Samia, portrayed by Jodie Turner-Smith, imprisoned in Sudan as a political prisoner, Martian is pushed beyond the boundaries of duty and morality in a desperate attempt to save the woman he loves.
According to the official synopsis, Martian is “a CIA agent living undercover in his own life,” forced to navigate a perilous path where “the only way out is deeper in.” The trailer leans heavily into paranoia, betrayal and emotional conflict, promising a season packed with nerve-shredding suspense and brutal choices.
Alongside Fassbender and Turner-Smith, Season 2 features an ensemble including Jeffrey Wright, Katherine Waterston and Richard Gere. Returning cast members also include Harriet Sansom Harris, John Magaro, Saura Lightfoot-Leon, India Fowler, Andrew Brooke, Christian Ochoa Lavernia, Reza Brojerdi, Ambreen Razia and Alex Reznik.
The series will also welcome guest appearances from Dominic West and Hugh Bonneville, while recurring cast members include Medalion Rahimi, Tessa Ferrer, Clayne Crawford, Keanush Tafreshi and Raza Jaffrey.
Behind the scenes, Tony Award-winning writer Jez Butterworth returns alongside John-Henry Butterworth as writers and executive producers. The production team also includes George Clooney and Grant Heslov for Smokehouse Pictures, with additional executive producers David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Alex Berger, Ashley Stern, Pascal Breton, Fassbender, Joe Wright and Keith Cox.
