The last we heard from this intriguing sci-fi project was a couple of wonderful posters whose witty tag line told us that this was to be more than just another tall tale of alien arrival.
Now, thanks to Vimeo and the fine people at Movies.com, we have a trailer for Extraterrestrial and even in this tease it looks more interesting than the majority of sci-fi flicks out there. It’s very different in terms of what it shows but there’s a playfulness and almost spirited determination to do something different that put me in mind of Panos Cosmatos’ Beyond the Black Rainbow as a decidely different take on the genre.
A while ago, when the film was first announced Bloody-Disgusting quoted the director as he talked of the project,
[The film] will not be like a War of the Worlds with Tom Cruise, where a regular person manages to somehow closely witness all major invasion events. He writes that most people will experience a global alien invasion without even knowing it has happened, by listening to rumors, or engaging in pointless activities. Hence Extraterrestre.
It’s a great trailer, and I cannot wait to see it, hopefully we’ll have news of its UK release soon.
