So far we know what Captain America will look like when Chris Evans pulls on the stars and stripes for Marvel’s First Avenger film, and the casting train stops at another station to pick up another fantastic and talented actor.

THR reports that Stanley Tucci has been cast as Dr. Abraham Erskine, the man who hands Steve Rogers the Super Soldier Serum and voila – Freshly baked Captain America.

Here’s their take on the character,

In the early comics, Dr. Erskine was a German scientist behind Project Rebirth, the secret experiment that created the Super Soldier known as Captain America.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER will focus on the early days of the Marvel Universe when Steve Rogers volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America.

Tucci joins a startling good cast for Joe Johnston which puts Tommy Lee Jones, Hugo Weaving, Dominic Cooper and Hayley Attwell alongside Evans in the title role. Tucci was easily the best thing about Peter Jackson’s CGI-tsunami The Lovely Bones, and his signature on the Marvel dotted line makes me happy.
