It was recently revealed that Christian Bale was in talks to join the cast of Danny Boyle and Aaron Sorkin’s Steve Jobs biopic as the Apple co-founder, and now Seth Rogen is the latest to be eyed for a key role.

According to various outlets, the actor perhaps best known for his comedic performances is being looked at to play Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. However, a deal isn’t currently in place for him to join the cast as of right now and other actors are in the mix. He does appear to have emerged as the favourite though.

Also being considered is Interstellar and Zero Dark Thirty star Jessica Chastain. There’s no word on who she will be playing in the Steve Jobs biopic, but it’s believed to be a leading role. Again, a deal is not in place.

Rogen has shown that he’s capable of more serious performances, and if he does end up starring as Wozniak alongside Bale’s Steve Jobs, it’s not hard to imagine his career taking a similar direction to Jonah Hill’s after he appeared in Moneyball with Brad Pitt as this biopic is expected to be a major awards contender.

The movie is based on Walter Isaacson’s biography Steve Jobs, and Sorkin has previously revealed that the movie will be broken up into three lengthy scenes, each of which will take place backstage before the launch of famous Apple products. These are said to be the Mac, NeXT and, of course, the iPod.
