Saving Mr. BanksTom Hanks as Walt Disney and Emma Thompson as P.L. Travers, the creator of Mary Poppins, seems like someone died and went to casting heaven.

John Lee Hancock’s film tells the story of the production of the aforementioned Disney classic, in particular focusing on the Disney’s attempts to woo the author into letting him adapt her greatest creation.

TIME revealed the first official image to the world and have a brief interview with Thompson who talks about her role as P.L. Travers and how she compares to other women she has played in the past,

There are very clear moral prisms these women pour life through, and I understand that very well. And [Travers] was not like that at all. She was far more chaotic and confused and morally various.

It’s hard not be bowled over by that kind of answer.

We’ve got a fair few months before we have any chance of Saving Mr. Banks and the 20th December US release date looks to be indicative of Disney’s hope for their backdoor biography of Uncle Walt.
