We’re just over two weeks away from the worldwide release of Gareth Edwards’ Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and with the release of 19 great new photos this morning we have another first look for you.

Debuting last night on the Jimmy Fallon show, Felicity Jones gave the world its first look at part of a completed scene from Rogue One. Like the first look at The Force Awakens this clip has been glimpsed before in the many trailers, and is now available here in its extended form. A bonus for us is that it comes complete with our first hints of composer Michael Giacchino’s score.

The composer was brought in at a very late stage, after reshoots forced original composer Alexandre Desplat to bow out. With Giacchino’s work on J. J. Abrams’ Star Trek films being some of his best work hopes were very high. And if this tiny piece of the film is anything to go by the themes and soul of John Williams’ enduring work on Star Wars is in good hands.

Here’s the full clip, presumably from the early part of the film set on the Jedi pilgrimage planet of Jedha. There’s a visual callback here to The Force Awakens as Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor looks on impressed, and a little helpless, as Felicity Jones takes on a cadre of Imperial Stormtroopers alone – just as Finn watched on as Rey did the same thing during the attack on Jakku.

It also features Alan Tudyk’s K-2SO delivering the hell out of a funny line. Chances are he’ll be the character we all want under the Christmas tree in a few weeks time.

Rogue One is released in the UK on the 15th of December, and in the US a day later.
