We’re just three months away from the release of the first non-saga Star Wars film, and all eyes will be on Gareth Edwards’ Rogue One to see how the galaxy far, far away fares without the Skywalkers.

With the turbulence of reshoots finally behind us there’s another piece of news which will affect the final film. According to THR composer Alexandre Desplat is being replaced by Michael Giacchino. The reshoots are being touted as the reason that J.J. Abrams’ composer of choice is stepping in at this stage.

Why Rogue One is the Most Important Star Wars Film in a Generation

Back in April we spoke to Desplat who confirmed he was beginning work on the Rogue One score ‘in a few weeks’, however without a final film to score that work stalled until scheduling conflicts lead us to this point.

It’s a disappointment for some. Desplat’s work on the Harry Potter is considered some of the series’ best. However Giacchino’s prolific work with Pixar and Abrams (particularly Super 8) point to a fine successor to John Williams.

In other Rogue One news we have two new international posters for you today. From Japan and South Korea these two photoshopped works have divided fans, but we can all agree are a step forward from the Star Wars Celebration reveal.
