Robot-and-Frank-UK-Quad-PosterRobot and Frank debuted at Sundance last year to excellent early reviews, and has been performing well at the box office in its limited release in the US since the summer.

Following its UK premiere at the London Film Festival – you can read Adam’s review here – the film will be released on our shores this March. We caught the UK trailer earlier in the month, and now the quad poster has debuted online.

“Set in the near future, aging curmudgeon and retired jewel thief Frank (Frank Langella) lives a solitary life until his son (James Marsden) installs a caretaker robot; against he and his daughter’s (Liv Tyler) wishes. The robot upends Frank’s lonely life – filled only with books and a visit to his favourite librarian (Susan Sarandon) – with a strict regimen of exercise, diet and gardening. Stubborn at first, Frank soon realizes Robot has the ability to pull off the most calculated of heists. An unlikely friendship, and crime duo, is born.”

Frank Langella takes the eponymous lead as Frank, starring alongside James Marsden, Liv Tyler, and Susan Sarandon, with Peter Sarsgaard lending his voice as the robot.

Jake Schreier makes his feature directorial debut here, directing from a script by Christopher D. Ford, who also makes his debut.

Ford’s script has earned him a nomination for Best First Screenplay at the upcoming Independent Spirit Awards, and we’re looking forward to finding out if he takes the prize on the night. (My personal preference in the category lies with Derek Connolly’s script for Safety Not Guaranteed, which is exceptional.)

Robot and Frank will be released in the UK on 8th March, and is continuing to play in a select number of theatres in the US. For now, here’s the new UK quad poster, which you can click through to enlarge.
