Matt Reeves whipped a lot of people up into a frenzy by dropping the first look of Robert Pattinson in his new Batsuit for the upcoming feature ‘The Batman’.

Less than a minute long, Reeves posted an official camera test to a dark and ominous soundtracking as the camera spans from the infamous Bat logo on the suit to Pattinson’s moody and masked face.

Robert Pattinson will play the role of a young Bruce Wayne/Batman in the “stand-alone, noir” project. Reeves has previously said of the project that the story is “told very squarely on his shoulders, and I hope it’s going to be a story that will be thrilling but also emotional. It’s more Batman in his detective mode than we’ve seen in the films.”

Andy Serkis will play the role of Alfred Pennyworth, Colin Farrell as the Penguin, Jeffrey Wright will play Commissioner Gordon while Paul Dano will play The Riddler and Zoe Kravtiz will play Seline Kyle/Catwomen.

Reeves took over the helm of ‘The Batman’ directing from Ben Affleck in January 2017 and has been developing the elusive project ever since.

No concrete details on the plot have been made available, but rumour has it that it will follow a ‘The Long Halloween’ style story with a murder mystery involving multiple villain appearances with Catwoman being one of several in the film.

The film will be released on June 25th 2021
