The as yet untitled film will be set in Los Angeles in the summer of 1969, and Tarantino’s upcoming movie, according to a source who read the script, focuses on a male TV actor who’s had one hit series and his looking for a way to get into the film business. His sidekick— also his stunt double—is looking for the same thing. The horrific murder of Sharon Tate and four of her friends by Charles Manson’s cult of followers serves as a backdrop to the main story.

The film, which is said to cost in the region of $100 Million is set to have to male leads with Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio all said to be in talks with Tarantino to star. Margot Robbie is in lead position to take on the role of Sharon Tate.

Sources have also revealed that the script could be compared to Pulp Fiction, taking Tarantino back to his heyday with a story that “has heart and a strong commercial appeal,”

Tarantino has also signed a deal with Sony Pictures to finance and distribute the film which is due to be filmed in June next year. A proposed release is set for 2019.
