DreamWorks Animation have teamed up with the online streaming service to make The Adventures of Puss in Boots a reality, and the first five twenty two minute episodes will be available from January 16th onwards.

New episodes will then be released throughout the rest of 2015, but no specific dates have been announced.

According to the official description, The Adventures of Puss in Boots sees the feline fortune-hunter enter a mythical city that is hidden from the outside world, called San Lorenzo. After accidentally revealing the city by breaking its spell, Puss in Boots must fight off invaders to protect the city’s inhabitants – and its treasure.

With a cold glass of leche in one hand and his sword in the other, there’s nothing that could get in the way of this swashbuckling hero … except hairballs.”

“Each episode is an exciting fantasy-adventure, which makes watching The Adventures of Puss in Boots an event the whole family will enjoy,” added Cindy Holland, Vice President of Original Content at Netflix.
