MUBI has released the official trailer for ‘PULP: What Do You Do For An Encore?,’ the vibrant new documentary from filmmaker Garth Jennings celebrating one of Britain’s most distinctive and enduring bands.
The film will stream exclusively on MUBI from 25 September 2026, with the newly released trailer offering fans a first glimpse at Jennings’ portrait of PULP and their triumphant return to the stage.
Ahead of its streaming debut, ‘PULP: What Do You Do For An Encore?’ will preview for one night only in UK and Irish cinemas on 18 September, followed by screenings in Canadian theatres on 23 September and US and Mexican theatres on 24 September.
Captured during PULP’s acclaimed 2025 tour, the film is directed by longtime collaborator Garth Jennings and narrated by the band’s iconic frontman, Jarvis Cocker. Combining footage from the group’s inventive live performances with four decades of never-before-seen archival material, the documentary charts PULP’s remarkable journey from Sheffield outsiders to unlikely cultural icons.
Featuring twenty songs spanning the band’s career, ‘PULP: What Do You Do For An Encore?’ celebrates a group whose sharp social commentary, sarcastic yet sincere wit and deep connection with their audience have continued to resonate across generations.
The documentary promises to offer both a spectacular concert experience and an intimate look at the story behind one of Britain’s most singular musical success stories, tracing the circuitous path that took PULP from misfits to pop culture legends.
‘PULP: What Do You Do For An Encore?’ is a MUBI Production directed by Garth Jennings and edited by Barney Pilling, whose previous credits include ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ and ‘Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris.’
