The BBC has unveiled the first-look images from ‘The Witch Farm,’ a chilling new ghost story and mystery set against the remote Welsh countryside.
Starring Gabrielle Creevy (The Guest, Black Doves) and Michael Socha (The Cage, Showtrial), the four-part series comes from acclaimed writer Danny Robins, the creator of the hit BBC paranormal podcast and TV series Uncanny, the docu-drama podcast The Battersea Poltergeist and the West End play 2:22 – A Ghost Story, which went on to become a global phenomenon.
Inspired by first-hand accounts, theories and real events explored in Robins’ original BBC podcast of the same name, ‘The Witch Farm’ follows a family whose dream of starting over in the Welsh countryside soon turns into a terrifying nightmare.
Set in South Wales in 1989, Bill (Michael Socha), Liz (Gabrielle Creevy) and their teenage son Jonathan (Lewin Lloyd) leave London behind for Heol Fanog, a remote modern farmhouse nestled in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons.

Initially, the property’s isolation offers precisely the freedom the family has been searching for. But their fresh start quickly takes an unsettling turn when frightening and inexplicable events begin occurring around the house, while a strange figure starts to appear.
As the unexplained disturbances escalate, Bill, Liz and Jonathan become increasingly convinced that they are not alone.
Bill and Liz begin investigating what is happening around them, only to discover that the farmhouse is connected to a history that refuses to remain buried. As the land begins to reveal its secrets, the strain also starts to expose cracks in Bill and Liz’s marriage, forcing them to question trust, belief and just how much they are willing to deny in order to survive.
Alongside the first-look images, the BBC has also announced further casting for the series. Lewin Lloyd (His Dark Materials), Sian Gibson (The Power of Parker, Peter Kay’s Car Share), Robert Pugh (Game of Thrones, The Tuckers), Jeremy Swift (Ted Lasso, Downton Abbey), Edward Holcroft (Industry, The Agency) and Roger Evans (Northern Lights, House of the Dragon) are all joining the cast.

‘The Witch Farm’ will consist of four 60-minute episodes and is coming soon to BBC iPlayer and BBC One.
