Here’s one for mummies and daddies looking for movies to take your little ones to in 2017 as eOne have released the first trailer for Peppa Pig My First Cinema Experience which is released in the UK in April.

In the hour long set of episodes you’ll see Peppa and all her friends visit London to meet The Queen, travel to Australia and visit the zoo. The experience features 9 new interactive episodes to sing, dance and play along to with Peppa’s new friend Daisy. Don’t worry George fans, he’ll be there too along with his life-long friend Dinosaur or more accurately dine-soar.

This release continues the trend of mall-screen adaptations heading to the big screen. With the likes of Paddington (which has recently had a sequel announced), Sponge-Bob Square Pants and Aardman’s Shaun the Sheep all getting a theatrical outing and making a tidy profit throughout, it goes to show that parents really do want to take their little ones to the cinema. Recently there’s been a tendency for studios to up the anti to get bums in seats. Just look at the trailer and posters for Pixar’s Cars 3 which is also released in 2017. The movie looks hugely cinematic and uses the threat of how ‘Everything is about to change’ using a shock-factor to get us interested. That said, what they’ve done to make it look so cinematic is really really clever (says this 36 year old). Will I be taking my 3 and 5 year old’s to see it? Time will no doubt tell.

Barry wrote this fabulous post back in 2015 entitled ‘Parent Power, Peppa Pig and Paddington – how Small Screen heroes Conquered the Cinema’ which is a really interesting read on just this subject matter.

Anyway, here’s the trailer for Peppa Pig My First Cinema Experience which will get fans of the show mega excited, and so you should be! It’s set for release 7th April 2017.
