Let’s be honest – right about now we could all use a bit of Paddington. And like a cuddly thunderbolt the Peruvian force of nature is about to strike a second time into our hearts.

This is a long way of saying that Paul King’s Paddington 2 has entered production. And that’s a very good thing.

As the title states the sequel will have two new cast members with Hugh Grant and Brendan Gleeson joining the ranks of of Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, with Ben Whishaw as the voice of Paddington.

The sequel revolves around the search for the perfect present for Paddington’s Aunt Lucy centenary. With King and his cast returning there’s a fair chance that the charming wash of the original film will be present once again. We could certainly use a bit of that right now.
