To coincide with the home entertainment release of Black Widow, the long-awaited solo film for Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson), we had the pleasure of chatting to co-star Olga Kurylenko about her surprise appearance in the film.

We are well aware of not running your experience of watching the film and the nature of Kurylenko’s role in the film so WARNING this interview does contain spoilers from the start. The actress, best known for her role as Camille in 007 adventure Quantum of Solace opposite Daniel Craig, tells us about keeping her role secret even right up to the film’s release, why she was drawn to the character, and why it even surprised her as to what the studio had in store, as well as her young son’s reaction to Mum joining the Marvel world.

Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger. Joining Johansson in the new feature film are Florence Pugh as Yelena, David Harbour as Alexei/The Red Guardian, and Rachel Weisz as Melina. “Black Widow”—the first film in Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe—is directed by Cate Shortland and produced by Kevin Feige.
