Hugh-Jackman-Michael-Fassbender-Evan-Peters-and-James-McAvoy-in-X-Men:-Days-of-Future-Past

As promised by Empire last week, today sees a whole host of mutant-based reveals, with an array of 25 individual magazine covers coaxing in the beginning of what is a huge day for X-Men fans, with X-Men: Days Of Future Past ramping up the advertising campaign and making itself well and truly known.

So far, of the 25 covers set to slowly be unveiled, we have the pleasure of viewing 10, with those currently featured being a towering 1970s Sentinel, Boliver Trask, Havok, Toad, William Stryker, Mystique, Beast, Quicksilver, Charles Xavier and Magneto. As fans will well know, the inclusion of the Sentinels coaxes in a whole new dimension to the X-Men lore, with the film set to show the mutants taking on their biggest threat yet, and it appears director Bryan Singer has thought long and hard regarding the behemoths looking to eradicate all of mutant-kind.

Elsewhere, returning individuals such as Havok, Mystique and Beast look poised for a battle, as well as James McAvoy’s Charles Xavier and Michael Fassbender’s Magneto, no doubt building upon his newfound status as leader of the Brotherhood. While there are plenty of returning faces in the upcoming film, so too are there new (yet familiar) names thrown into the fold. William Stryker will be of great interest when he makes his bow as a much younger model than we have been accustomed to, and Quicksilver’s inclusion will no doubt draw in much opinion considering his addition to Marvel’s own Avengers: Age Of Ultron also. A refreshed look for Toad also presents much intrigue and how he will be involved will pose another great opportunity for this expansive entry into the canon.

As for the further reveals we will have to remain watchful of the Empire site, but already this ambitious X-Men outing is looking ever impressive and among one of the most intriguing of all the superhero affairs this year.
