Despite the upsetting news that we’re going to have to wait until next December for Star Wars Episode VIII, that’s made a little easier by the fact that Gareth Edwards’ Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is set to be released this Christmas. While there haven’t been anywhere near as many leaks or spoiler reports for this movie as there were for The Force Awakens, some intriguing details about what we should expect from Rogue One have now surfaced.

Now, there aren’t any major spoilers revealed here, but you may want to stop reading now!

According to JoBlo, we’ll get to see some Stormtroopers clad all in black in Rogue One, and they’re being referred to as Death Troopers, a sinister sounding moniker which obviously drops a hint as to what their purpose will be. Why did we never see them in the Original Trilogy? That’s a question which this first Star Wars Anthology movie will need to address.

The site also mentions that a droid will be part of the Rebel group led by Felicity Jones’ character, and reveal that he’s a real “scene stealer.” Formerly under the employ of the Empire, he’s been reprogrammed and is “two-legged and a dark grey or black color” and “has long arms and legs and is very different than a typical protocol droid like C-3PO.”

There will also be a new TIE Fighter design and a classic AT-ATs be featured in the film.

As for Darth Vader, it’s said that he has a much larger role than expected (so more than just a cameo then), and while specifics about that have’t been revealed, chances are that the Sith Lord is going to end up playing one of the main villains in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
