Sacha Gervasi’s Hitchcock will soon be entering the Oscar race in a big way, with the Anthony Hopkins-led film due for release in the US in just a few weeks’ time.

We caught the first trailer earlier this month, teasing what is sure to be a brilliant leading performance from Hopkins, and now Fox Searchlight have released the latest poster, courtesy of THR.

“HITCHCOCK is a love story about one of the most influential filmmakers of the last century, Alfred Hitchcock, and his wife and partner Alma Reville. The film takes place during the making of Hitchcock’s seminal movie PSYCHO.”

Hopkins is joined by an all-star cast, headed up by Helen Mirren playing his wife, Alma Reville; Scarlett Johansson as Janet Leigh; Jessica Biel as Vera Miles; Toni Collette as Peggy Robertson; and James D’Arcy as Anthony Perkins.

Gervasi (Anvil: The Story of Anvil) is making his feature debut behind the camera, directing from a script by John J. McLaughlin (Black Swan), adapting the original book by Stephen Rebello.

Hitchcock will be released in the US on 23rd November, in the height of the awards season, and it will be very interesting to see how it’s received by audiences and critics alike. Here in the UK, we’ve a little longer to wait, with its release set for 8th February, 2013, but Hopkins is always worth the wait, and it’s certainly a film to look forward to. For now, here’s the latest (and most likely, final) US poster.
