Writer-director Rian Johnson (Brick) returns behind the camera to bring us Looper, one of the most anticipated films of the year. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, and Emily Blunt star in the leads, and all we’ve seen so far suggest it’s going to be immense.

We got an awesome new UK quad poster of Gordon-Levitt and Willis last week, and now we have a new image of co-star Noah Segan to share, courtesy of the film’s official Tumblr.

“In the futuristic action thriller Looper, time travel will be invented – but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a “looper” – a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) – is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good… until the day the mob decides to “close the loop,” sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination.

The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, and Jeff Daniels. Ram Bergman and James D. Stern produce.”

Starring alongside them will be a great supporting cast, headed up by Jeff Daniels, Paul Dano, Piper Perabo, and Garrett Dillahunt, for one of the best casts of the year.

Segan has now worked with Johnson on all three of his feature films, starring alongside Gordon-Levitt in Brick and Rachel Weisz, Adrien Brody, Mark Ruffalo, Rinko Kikuchi in The Brothers Bloom, and we can’t wait to see his performance in Looper as Kid Blue next month.

Looper has been selected to open this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, which is praise enough to make it a must-see film when it heads to the UK and US soon after on 28th September. As usual with this great new look at Segan, you can click to enlarge.
