Dreamworks’ latest foray into the world of animation, Rise of the Guardians, finally arrived in US theatres yesterday, ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday today.

We’ve seen plenty from the film to suggest that it will be another favourite from the animation house, and with the film having now entered American theatres, the studio have released two new clips, teasing some of the great animation and light-hearted family fare.

“RISE OF THE GUARDIANS is an epic and magical adventure that tells the story of Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, the Sandman, and Jack Frost – legendary characters with previously unknown extraordinary abilities. When an evil spirit known as Pitch lays down the gauntlet to take over the world, the immortal Guardians must join forces to protect the hopes, beliefs and imagination of children everywhere.”

Hugh Jackman, Chris Pine, Jude Law, Isla Fisher, Alec Baldwin, and Dakota Goyo lead the terrific voice cast, with Peter Ramsey (head of story on Monsters vs. Aliens) making his feature directorial debut, from a script by David Lindsay-Abaire (Robots, Rabbit Hole), adapting William Joyce’s popular book, The Guardians of Children.

The film has already been submitted in the Best Animated Feature category for the coming Oscars, and could well be a contender in the months to come.

Rise of the Guardians is now playing in 3D in the US, and will be released here in the UK next Friday, 30th November. Here are the latest clips to give you a taste of what to expect.
