While A Million Ways to Die in the West has grossed only $85 million worldwide, director Seth MacFarlane found much greater success with Ted in 2012. The movie about Mark Wahlberg and his foul mouthed teddy bear earned an incredible $550 million in total, and a sequel was confirmed soon after.

Production on Ted 2 is already well under way in Boston, but a major casting addition has now been made to the highly anticipated sequel. Various sites are reporting that Morgan Freeman has joined the cast as an “iconic” civil rights lawyer who attempts to help Ted resolve some legal issues.

Freeman is an iconic actor, known for starring in everything from The Shawshank Redemption to Se7en, and far more recently, Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s hit animated feature The LEGO Movie.

Much of the original cast are back for the sequel, though Amanda Seyfried replaces Mila Kunis as the female lead. Seth MacFarlane is once again writing and directing, and he will of course reprise his role as the titular teddy! Plot details are unknown at this time, and we’ve yet to see any official stills or footage.

As with the last movie, a number of A-List celebrities and well-known pop culture figures are expected to make cameo appearances, though their identities are obviously being kept under wraps for the time being. Ted 2 is currently set to be released on June 26th, 2015.
