Two new names have been added to the consideration list to join Margot Robbie on the Harley Quinn spin-off movie, Birds of Prey. Both Mary Elizabeth Wanstead (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World) and Jurnee Smollett-Bell (Eve’s Bayou) are being considered for the roles of Helena Bertinelli aka Huntress and Dinah Lance aka Black Canary.
Other actresses that are currently being considered for the female-centric story are Gugu Mbatha-Raw for Black Canary, and Cristin Milioti, Sofia Boutella and Margaret Qualley for Huntress. Justina Machado and Roberta Colindrez are all reportedly being looked at for Gotham cop Renee Montoya.
The story is to be focused around Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn – Robbie is the only one locked in so far. The film follows the adventures of a revolving group of female heroes and villains as they team up to take on the villain Black Mask.
