Lionsgate has acquired ensemble comedy Friends with Kids for US distribution.
Written and directed by Jennifer Westfeldt, Friends with Kids stars Kristen Wiig, Jon Hamm, Megan Fox, Maya Rudolph, Adam Scott, Chris O’Dowd, Edwards Burns, Michael Dean and Westfeldt herself.
Friends with Kids is about a pair of thirtysomething best friends who observe the toll that having kids has taken on the couples they know and resolve to bypass that stress by having a child and then date other people.
The film premiered at the 36th Toronto Film Festival to middling reviews, and is expected to be released in the US later this year.
