Lily James and Emma Thompson alongside ‘Star Trek Discovery’ actor Shazad Latif have been cast in the rom-com ‘What’s Love Got To With It?’.

‘Elizabeth’ helmer Shekhar Kapur returns to the director’s chair to helm the project which is written and produced by Jemima Khan.

Plot details are being kept locked up but it is thought the story will be a cross-cultural rom-com about love and marriage and is set between London and South Asia.

Indian filmmaker Kapur hasn’t stepped behind a camera since 2007’s ‘Elizabeth: The Golden Age’ which starred Cate Blanchett as the fierce female British Monarch during the 16th Century.

James can currently be seen in Netflix’s Ben Wheatley adaptation ‘Rebecca’ opposite Armie Hammer. Her upcoming projects include ‘The Dig’ alongside Ralph Fiennes and TV series ‘The Pursuit of Love’.

Thompson recently signed up to star in Sophie Hyde comedy ‘Good Luck to You, Leo Grande’.  She was last seen in Paul Feig’s ode to George Michael ‘Last Christmas’ alongside Emilia Clarke and voiced Polly The Parrot in Robert Downey Jr’s ‘Dolittle’.
