Following the news that we’ll be waiting on a new trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens until the Autumn, Entertainment Weekly has unveiled a cover which should help to keep us going in the meantime! As you can see, it features Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) with his crossguard lightsaber seemingly in that same snowy forest from the teaser trailer.

None of the details promised on the cover below have been revealed just yet, but will no doubt be with us at some point over the next few days. The site promises intel on J.J. Abrams’ rumoured involvement with Episode IX and Kylo Ren’s ties to Darth Vader. We do however have an incredible batch of new images which you can check out below.

UPDATE:

As well as the new images released today EW have published an interview with JJ Abrams which does give us a few new details on our new characters. And this is a spoiler to be sure, so read on if you wish, or scroll down for the (also Spoiler) images.

On Kylo Ren:

He is a character who came to the name Kylo Ren when he joined a group called the Knights of Ren.

The blue touchpaper of speculation is well and truly lit. EW leap to the conclusion that we could already know the parents of who Kylo Ren was originally (no prizes for guessing who you are thinking of already). Abrams also confirmed the generally held belief that the crossbar lightsaber is of his own deisgn,

The lightsaber is something that he built himself, and is as dangerous and as fierce and as ragged as the character.

As always, more questions…
