On Saturday, Warner Bros. surprised us all by releasing not only the first official image of the Justice League assembled, but a trailer for the movie too (they’d clearly learned from the mistake they made last year when they were forced to release that Suicide Squad sneak peek after it leaked online). To say the footage is incredible would be an understatement.

Justice League isn’t released until next November and they’re still in the process of shooting the movie, so director Zack Snyder was obviously limited when it came to what could be shown. However, there was still more than enough in there to give us some food for thought.

It’s clear that the mixed response to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice earlier this year has changed how Warner Bros. will be approaching their DC Films slate, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. However, as well as a slightly different tone being on display here, there were lots of other key reveals which shed some light on what we should expect…

10. A Different Kind Of Superhero

Aquaman

Considering the fact that Warner Bros. released a photo of Aquaman before Batman v Superman was released, most of us assumed that he would make more than a cameo in that movie.

Alas, he was in it for all of twenty seconds, so we got to learn absolutely nothing about him (beyond his hatred of underwater drones). Regardless, this trailer for points to him being a very different sort of superhero who uses his connection to the sea to help those in need.

In fact, it appears as if his existence is probably not known to the public beyond him being a myth, so hopefully we’ll get to see him step up in a big way when he joins this team. It’s clear that he’s fond of a drink anyway, and he’s certainly a pretty intimidating figure!
